Still (in) Motion Art Submission Info

Still (in) Motion
Art Exhibition Featuring Photography by Women

September 25, 26 & 27, 2009
Curated by Becky Jaffe and Lanell Dike

Photography by Becky Jaffe

STILL (in) MOTION is an exploration by women photographers of stillness and motion through the camera lens. What does our eye see? A photograph captures a moment in motion which becomes a still image. Yet within that image there is the visual play of motion and stillness. Do pure motion or pure stillness exist? Is it possible to have one without the other?

Submission Guidelines:

Please email six (or fewer) photographs with an artist statement explaining how your images reflect the theme, Still (in) Motion. We will be picking photos from various women artists that fit together as a whole. We might want to use just one of your images or all six. We will let you know by August 14th. You are responsible for printing of the pieces and matting/framing if necessary.

Email your submission by July 31 to: Lanell Dike – lanell (at) frisbiest.com and Becky Jaffe – thisgrasshopper (at) gmail.com

Cost to participate: $45 (Due by the end of August if you are in the show- sliding scale possible if needed. There is no submission fee. Money is used for show materials including postcards, food, drinks, art materials for kid activities on the weekend & other show costs.)
